Russian River Trail Feasibility Study

In November 2018, Sonoma County Regional Parks embarked on the Lower Russian River Trail Feasibility Study. The study area includes River Road and Highway 116 which are high traffic, high speed roadways with a history of bicycle and pedestrian collisions. With community input, the goal of the study is to identify a preferred alignment and conceptual design for a bicycling and walking trail along the Lower Russian River from Jenner to Mirabel Park which is approximately 19 miles long.

Sonoma County Regional Parks hopes to provide safe walking and bicycling access to communities, schools, businesses, parks and beaches, and other recreation opportunities along the river corridor with a trail that meets the needs of the unique communities it passes through. More background information on the project can be found here.
